The Enterprise Learning Alliance would be so grateful and appreciative to work collaboratively with local business to give our students information and experience about the career opportunities available to them within the areas which they reside and the wider Kent. We have been fortunate in the past to work together with the following, to name a few:
Thorley Tavern Hospitality Industry
Specsavers
Southeastern Railway
Tesco
The Spitfire Museum
The Schoolwear Centre
Hair Station Salon
Palm Bay MOT and Service Centre
AT Garage Dover
Owl House Stables
Ramsgate Test Centre
East Cliff Garage
Highway Motors
Stonelees Golf Centre
Some of our students who have participated in work experience at some of these providers have gone on to become a member of their staff teams due to positive experience in the world of work. Also, by listening to presentations by the business' have directed students down a particular pathway that they may have not considered with a successful outcome.
These are some of the comments our amazing pupils have received from employers:
L - WW Martin construction
We were delighted to welcome local student L for a work experience placement last week, where he supported our site management teams on out Thanet District and Council 1phase 4 Affordable Housing sites in Margate.
Throughout the week, L demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm, commitment and a strong willingness to learn. He gained valuable insight into the day-to-day operations of a busy construction site, embracing every opportunity to develop his skills.
With a keen interest in pursuing a career in bricklaying, L took full advantage at the placement to further his knowledge at the placement to further his knowledge and contribution to the project with our group companies East Kent Brickwork Ltd and WW Civils Ltd.
We wish L every success as he completes his studies and we hope his work experience placement with us is a valuable stepping stone towards achieving his career aspiration.
O: Little Owls Stables
We had O join us from Southwood on a last-minute placement last week. We just wanted to feed back that he was very hard working and did really well, especially given he was working outdoors in mid Winter in a pretty mean storm!
J - Tesco's Whitfield
Thank you so much for your email its lovely to hear how much J is enjoying his time with us here at Tesco Dover. He has come in everyday with a smile and a hard working attitude and has fitted in so well.
I am afraid due to other schools needing work experience placements and resources in store we are unable to accommodate this on a permanent basis.
I was with the restaurant yesterday and did enquire with the team on M's work experience.
The feedback was really positive and the whole team commented on how involved M's was on his week, he took initiative and really got involved on shifts, wanting to earn all the stations.
M's interacted with all the team and managers as well. He was great with customers and couriers not afraid to talk to anyone and ran great customer service.
We hope M's enjoyed his time with us and if he’s looking for a part time job we would be happy to interview him as long as he’s finished GCSEs.
Kind Regards
