Students were invited to engage in a free workshop, at the TATE Britain gallery in London. During their visit they had a unique opportunity to tour the gallery, viewing traditionalist artworks and engage in a practical workshop, that enabled them to merge the traditional with contemporary art, using modern digital technology, such as iPads and phone cameras.
TATE school workshops are devised and framed by artists who have established practices, and who value the opportunity to test out their thinking in relation to the artworks and practices on display, and in dialogue with young people.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity and we shall return to the gallery in the future, to engage in other art related activities
