During term 1 we attended the Far Academy Skate Foundation every Friday for six weeks.  Our project was to design and make a skateboard.  The project is designed for young people who struggle in mainstream schools.  At the Far Academy there is a positive environment with people who understand the difficulties young people face in education these days.  I feel, being at the Far Academy, I have grown more confident in liking my own work and taking risks with my work.  I also got used to working in a team with adults I didn’t know and in an unfamiliar place.  I found a new interest in different types of design which helped my GCSE Art course.  We each designed and built our own longboards.  Helen (TA) & I also designed a school clock with participation from other students.
